This type of alternative therapy works by using an electroencephalogram (EEG) to read various brain waves. We can educate the brain to train itself to regulate better during times of stress. When the optimal combination of brain waves are measured by complex software, the brain gets a positive feedback reward. That encourages the brain waves to continue to refine those patterns that promote peace, calm, and focus.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps you process and heal from distressing experiences through bilateral movement.

Currently, Breakthrough offers a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) group for young adults, a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group for adults, an Anger Management Group, and an Adolescent Empowerment Group. Our groups are typically facilitated by a licensed counselor along with an Intern finishing up their Masters degree.
