Although I was originally trained as an M.D., my current passion is teaching pathophysiology at a university in Phoenix during the day and helping people heal, psychologically, in the afternoons/nighttime.
As the Clinical Director at Breakthrough Behavioral Health, my goal is to get you the best care possible and work closely with an integrated team to help you achieve your goals.

I believe that counseling is about empowering us to make the positive changes in our lives that we believe we need to live a fulfilling and happy life. Having a trusted professional to help us sift through our beliefs and thoughts in a non-judgmental way can provide us with a different perspective and can enable us to make the changes that we already know we need to make but have been unable to make happen. I offer my clients different perspectives and a non-judgmental approach to empowering people to make positive change occur in their lives.

My personal mission statement is for each client to reach his or her individualized recovery goals to live a more fulfilled life. I have experience working with women, men, couples, children, teenagers, elderly, young adults, middle-aged adults, LGBTQ+, and co-occurring diagnoses.
My approach is to help others solve their issues, improve emotion regulation, increase usage of coping mechanisms, and improve conflict resolution skills.
If this sounds like we could work together, please contact me and we can get started on your next breakthrough.

My life experiences have led me to the helping profession where I maintain a strategy with meeting people where they are in their exploration to discover or restore their quality of life. My methods and technique are to assist you with navigating and resolving conflicts where you can enhance your abilities for a fresh perspective and a renewed outlook. We all maintain the ability to create our own positive and negative emotions with how we interpret our lives, so let's design your plan together where you will become more confident with overcoming the challenges of life.

After receiving my master’s degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2016, I have worked with a variety of clientele, of all ages, who are seeking guidance related to trauma, adjustment issues, depression/anxiety, dissociative identity disorder, gender, and gender identity issues, and more. My preferred modalities for treatment are CBT and DBT. I believe that with the right tools and determination anyone can accomplish the changes they seek.

My focus of therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy and Solution focused (brief)
therapy. I also utilize Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. Once healthier thinking is achieved, that will
begin to drive your healthier behaviors.
My strengths are building absolute trust and rapport with my clients and supporting
them as they discuss their past stories, struggles and challenges, as well as their
current strengths and resources. I am passionate about working with people and look forward to
meeting you and helping you find a healthier you!

It is my belief that counseling is one of the most overlooked and underutilized tools to finding healing from life and gaining a clearer picture of your true self. Having personally overcome loss and tragedy to get here, I have experienced first-hand how trained professionals can help us find our ways past such obstacles. I have worked for years as a speech therapist specializing in helping children with disabilities and different abilities to master the skills necessary to succeed. I have also served as a missionary to Kenya, and I continue to work with the disadvantaged both locally and abroad. All of this has helped me learn to accept people where and how they are, and to help them find the tools and truths necessary to achieve peace.
I have worked with clients on the Autism Spectrum, as well as those struggling with Codependence, Grief, Anxiety, Woman’s issues, Relationship Issues, Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families, Sexual Trauma, and/or Faith/Spirituality.

I am an enthusiastic and motivated graduate student at Grand Canyon University and am excited to begin my internship at Breakthrough. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and am working towards my Master of Science in Professional Counseling. I want to create a warm and welcoming environment for clients that is free of judgment. I feel that promoting a safe space for healing is key for a client to grow and achieve their goals.
